An artist who thrives in interdisciplinary environments, Leah (Lee) Donnelly investigates how to foster sustainable, creative, and accessible spaces using technology. Their work draws from a diverse array of fields—wearable technology, accessible design, media archeology, fine art, philosophy, audio-haptics, and more. Passionate about developing educational, community-driven, and disability-centered initiatives, Lee is always excited to discuss how unique fusions of arts, humanities, and sciences can unearth new pasts, presents, and futures.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Lee recently graduated with a BA in Media Arts and Sciences from Arizona State University. They received the honor of 2025 Outstanding Undergraduate Student in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts and was interviewed by ASU News as a notable graduate from the School of Arts, Media, & Engineering. They recently presented at the International Communication Association (ICA) Annual Conference regarding a small portion of research from their undergraduate thesis—Excavating the Queer Wristwatch; they aim to continue this work into a larger book project drawing from media archeology, feminist science and technology studies, and critical horology. In fall of 2025, Lee will begin pursing a Master’s in Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Washington. They are currently designing a wearable magpie animatronic, playing with ideas of digital consumption of the self, and building a Goldfish dispensing "gumball" machine inspired by the history of vending.
